Tangiers is located at the northern tip of Morocco, across the Straits of Gibraltar from Spain. At its nearest point the distance between Spain and Africa is only 11 kilometers. Over the years Tangiers has been under the control of Spain and Portugal, it was even under English rule for a short period in the 1600’s. Because of the colourful history that Tangiers enjoys it is a city full of character and atmosphere.
